In the photos to the left...
...we are using a hyperspectral radiometer to measure solar radiation reflectance of the plant canopy of a freshwater tidal marsh along the Nanticoke River. We are developing techniques for assessing the water quality of marshes based on the remotely sensed radiometric readings.
...we are measuring the Leaf Area Index of the marsh to help in interpreting our hyperspectral reflectance readings.
...and measuring leaf photosynthesis, transpiration and stomatal conductance of marsh vegetation. This data will be applied in our efforts to develop an algorithm for assessing wetland water quality from reflectance measurements.
